Saying [in 1878] that the cantata written for the Birmingham Festival will not be called La ceinture de noces, that he has chosen instead Victor Hugo's La lyre et la harpe, that Peyton will receive the chorus parts before the beginning of January [1879], and telling him [in 1879] that the B♭ is correct, not an error, thanking Peyton for providing Lemmens[-Sherrington], Patey, and Stanley [i.e. Charles Santley?] but questioning the choice of a tenor whose voice may not have the power required for the number that concludes the first part, etc.
